Reflection: A Career As A Registered Nurse

Self-Exploration When I was young, my mother was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. She was in a coma for three months and was then admitted into rehab after waking up. From the age of six years old, I started wondering how the human body worked. I always questioned, why people ended up with terrible diseases and what could be done to treat them. For my career, I have chosen Registered Nurse. Registered Nurses have always interested me because of their duty to help patients. Being a Registered Nurse, I would be required to help in the treatment of patients and to keep the patients feeling comfortable as per doctor 's orders. However, there are some positions that require Bachelor or Master’s Degree. Duties that are required by a Registered Nurse are duties that ensure patient safety and health. Registered Nurse’s provide and organize patient care. Registered nurses educate patients about their health condition and medications they need to take. It is a Registered Nurses job to teach patients and their families how to manage wellness. Registered Nurses consult doctors and other health care officials during their time on duty. While researching this career, I was able to read what was expected of a Registered Nurse and what level degrees were needed to accomplish my goals. The lowest income would support my needs because I am currently not working, therefore this income will be added income and will suit my lifestyle.
