Barking Barbershop Training Report

Superior Essays
For almost six years I worked for you as the bather of your small pet grooming business. Recently, I have been thinking about the training I received for the job and how it affected me as an employee. I am writing you this letter to explain the aspects of the training that were very effective and how you can continue to leverage them to produce great employees and an overall high-quality service. I also am going to discuss what I think lacked in the training process and how it could be improved for future trainees. I hope you find my analysis and advice helpful in improving your employee training.
The Strengths
There were many positive aspects of the training I received at the Barking Barbershop. The greatest one I encountered while I was being trained was that you, the business owners, were the ones who trained me. When I first started, you both took turns showing me how to properly bathe and dry the dogs. Learning from you was very beneficial as I knew I was doing things in a way that you approved and recommended.

One of the weaknesses I immediately noticed was that there is no formal training process or structure in place. Although this is usually acceptable in a small business, it does cause some problems. The job itself has no set responsibilities and nothing is written down to ensure that each bather is trained the same way or performs the exact same jobs.
Another problem I came across was that I was not trained intensively (Fisk, et. al., 2014). I was shown how to bathe once or twice and then was sent out on my own to learn the rest. I cannot say that I was comfortable performing the job on my own at that point. Eventually, I perfected my technique by experimenting and learning what worked the best for me, but it was different than what others in the salon were doing when it came to

The assignment is to collect and analyze collected data from a chosen organization to identify one or more its training needs. The recommendation should be justified and linked to the company’s business goals. The Training Needs Assessment (TNA) is used to determine if training is the proper corrective measure to a performance problem. For this assignment I have chosen the Cracker Barrel restaurant chain. It is necessary to follow a systematic approach in order to design an effective training process.…

Additionally, keeping things fun and rewarding the dog is important to keep the dog from losing interest from any activity. Also, motivating the dog makes all of the hazardous work seem like a game and not something dangerous that will scare the dog away. Rewarding the dog will want it keep training and following orders (puppy institute). Lastly, K-9 dog training never stops. Training is still essential to the dog because the officer and dog must be ready to help in any type of situation that could occur, which has shown amazing results when a K-9 Unit dog saves its officer's life, finds a bomb, or hunts down a suspect with its specialized knowledge and skills (puppy…

Throughout my work experience at Point Grey Veterinary Hospital, I had seen how a veterinary hospital operates and what sorts of business activities they may do. A few business activities they do, include, selling medications to pet owners whose pets may have infections, diseases, pain, or irritations, and offering services, such as dental cleaning, giving vaccinations, annual health exams, and surgeries. The goal of Point Grey Veterinary Hospital is to provide their clients with compassionate care, quality education, and the genuine advice that is in the best interest of their pet. As a former employee of Panda Express I have experienced and seen how employees are trained. Although the techniques that the newly employed individuals are taught can be effective, it doesn’t allow them to fully understand the concepts. Therefore they cannot perform their job correctly or efficiently, and would create problems later on from the lack of training. I have noticed several instances that can be fixed directly. Not only does a new way of training help the employees, it also benefits the managers and the establishment in return.…

Another subject that Barber is good at explaining is that the president is a source of reassurance. People want to know for sure that they are kept in good hands. The citizens of America would want to know if this country is in danger or not, and the president would be the one to make known to us if there was such a threat. One thing that you must be doing to be a president is to be accountable. You must be accountable for the things you do or don’t do.…

When we got there, we walked in and there were people at the front desk asking names. once they have your name they gave you a small piece of paper that you had to fill out; so your name could be put in a drawing for a prize. You could walk around to the different stations they had there to look at all the things they had.…

If he sneers and struggles, give him a quick "No!" that reminds him he should be cooperating. Listening to your firm orders can actually be reassuring to him, because it shows him you're in charge and the situation is under control. Ask the groomer to use the same words and tone as you, for consistency in training.…

It seemed at the time that everyone thought dog training had to be very physical. Still seems this way with a lot of trainers. Once I went out on my own, I decided that I did not want to train the same way everyone had been training for years. I wanted to learn how to train using positive reinforcement, how to make it fun for the dog and owner. This started a ten year quest for learning everything I could on dog training.…
