On October 7, 2016 Hurricane Mathew passed by Jacksonville, Florida causing wide spread damage to many areas in northeast Florida. With the affects still impacting many residents, including myself, I decided to focus this essay on an industry whose business has been affected by the hurricane. While normally you might think that the hurricane causes a negative effect on businesses, in this instance it is just the opposite. Many home owners incurred roof damage as a result of the storm, which has caused the roofing companies in the area to be extremely busy. The broker is able to purchase from multiple manufacturers and is able to provide the inventory needed timely. With the large variety of shingles available in the industry today, especially in residential roofing, this allows Superior Roofing to offer their customers many different choices when determining which type of roof customers would like to have.
