Luke begins his genealogy as he wanted and goes back to the time of Adam. He ten continues to the family of David in (Luke 31-32). Unlike Matthew, the son of David in this genealogy is not Solomon but its Nathan. Just like Joseph, Mary refer to Miriam was a member of the house of David. She just wasn’t from Solomon but instead of Nathan. So she has David blood in her which makes her a part of the family. When I look at both the gospel of Matthew and Luke I see a lot of differences but the whole point of them to me is the same. I feel like although both gospels tell Jesus birth in different ways they both have the same message to deliver. To me that message is that we have a child who is sent to us by God as his son to come down and save us from our sins and because he is such a special child everyone knew about his birth and people came to visit him and give him gifts and there were some who wanted to kill him because they were afraid he was going to take over and he did. The whole point of Jesus coming down to earth was to save us from our sins and lead us to eternal life. That is how I tried to reconcile these differences because to me what mattered was the fat that he was born in Bethlehem and ended up in Nazareth somehow. Everything that happen before or in between is just extra but somehow still important I
