She protected purity and young children. She was one of the virgin goddess who valued pureness and usually seen either hunting and protecting animals or nurturing the young. However she has a different side also. If any one of her nymphs were to fall in love be seduced, she would turn them into animals and kill them. If someone is referred to Artemis or even her incarnation, they are usually described for their love of animals and young children.
