Summary

Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, lived with his mother in Manhattan, New York. On the first day of summer, just after his sixth-grade year, he realized he was half-blood. He is taken to Camp Half-Blood, a place for people like him are safe from monsters.

At camp, He learns more about himself and his family. He learns that his father was Poseidon. He also learns that Poseidon was blamed for stealing Zeus’s lightning bolt. He tells him that the bolt must be returned before summer solstice or else he will declare war with Poseidon. Poseidon needs Percy’s help to bring back the bolt.

Percy went on a quest with Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena, and Grover, his best friend. They believe that Hades, has took the bolt. They traveled to Los Angeles to get to the Underworld. During the travel, they battled with Medusa, they were attack by Echidna, the mother of monsters, and Chimera, son of Echidna. They were tricked by Ares, the God of War. And they almost lost their memories in the Vegas Casino.

Hades says that Percy must of been mistaken. Percy finds that Hades is also missing HIS symbol of power, the Helm of Darkness. He believes that Percy took the bolt and his helmet. To make the situation worse, the bolt magically appeared in Percy’s backpack that Ares gave him.

After escaping Hades, Percy finds Ares waiting for him. Percy asks him if Ares had taken the bolt and Helm of Darkness. Ares is believed that making the big three (Zeus, Hades, Poseidon) think that each other is taking each other’s weapon would cause the most biggest and inspiring war of all times. Percy and Ares fought. Percy wounded Ares and won the Helm of Darkness.

He returns the helm to Hades and took a plane to Empire State Building. There, he met Poseidon and Zeus and tells them everything he knows about the thief. Poseidon is proud of
