However Poseidon was already married to the ever so beautiful Amphitrite. The gift was a small piece of the ocean. The small piece of ocean was so beautiful that it made her fall madly in love with the God. Later Poseidon had a child with the goddess named Nekton. Then a loud roar came from the sea as Amphitrite rose from the roaring waters with a very angry expression. “You will stay away from my husband as long as you live Psamathe!” She then cursed Psamathe and made it so that she and Poseidon could never touch again and was instantly forced back to her desert. Then the goddess turned to Nekton peering deep into his soul and seeing a great deal of her husband in him. “For your ability to survive a great threat I shall make you a god as a reward, but what shall you be the god of? Similar to several other stories, the epic poem ‘Odyssey’ written by Homer uses the different archetypes to describe the characters that take part in the mythology. The Swiss psychologist Carl Jung had named and defined the twelve different archetypes, that were most commonly used in the history of literature and can still be found in tools of entertainment of all culture, for instance, in movies, books or plays. Examples of archetypes can be repeatedly found in chapters of the epic poem. For instance, in the chapter where the protagonist Odysseus faces the fearsome cyclop Polyphemus, Odysseus can be identified as the hero. The hero is the one who shows courage in challenging situations, who seeks ways to improve the world and who strives to be strong and fears to be weak.…

She was rescued by Perseus who slew the beast. In mythology, Andromeda was the daughter of Cepheus and Cassiopeia, king and queen of the North African kingdom of Aethiopia.…
