Firstly, a basic definition of topic: Christology is the study of the person of Jesus as the Christ: the Anointed One, The Messiah and the One who saves. The conflict between the Christians and the Jesus Seminar has been an ongoing struggle since 1985. The Jesus Seminar, founded by Robert Funk, originated in 1985 as around 70 biblical scholars set out to determine the legitimacy of Jesus’ sayings (Dart). The Seminar focused on the historicity of Jesus using the best methods of science and literary criticism as it pertains to the Bible. Funk believed that the gospel writers had made Jesus into a “larger than life” figure in order to satisfy their religious desires. The Jesus Seminar’s goal is to rid the historical figure of Jesus from “Christian legend and myth” and to find out who Jesus really was and what he really said (Craig).…

There is plenty of evidence in the Bible of Jesus' nature as both fully human and fully divine. As mentioned in the previous paragraph, Jesus is confirmed to be human because of his display of human emotions, his human birth and death and also his human needs and form. Jesus is confirmed to be divine because of his title of Lord and the fact that he is the son of God. His conception within the Virgin Mary also confirmed his divinity. The Nicene Creed also mentions Jesus as the son of God and as Lord, confirming his divinity.…

It was God’s promise that His Son Jesus would descend from Abraham and be the Messiah. The Gospel of Matthew 1:1-16 lists the genealogy of Jesus and he includes four women who were gentiles: Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, and the wife of Uriah. God wanted His Son to be the Savior for all people, both Jews who believed in God, as well as gentiles who were non-believers. To fulfill his promise to Abraham and also make certain that Jesus would be the Messiah for everyone, God needed to make certain that some mothers to Jesus’ ancestors were non-Jews. God worked through these gentile women to make sure the ancestral line continued from Abraham to Jesus and that His Son would be the Savior for the whole world.…

In this paper, I will be talking about the trustworthiness and historicity of the Gospels. The historical reliability of the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ miracles, and did Jesus claim to be God. Did his disciples believe he was God? The accuracy of the resurrection accounts in the Gospels, that is, did Jesus rise bodily from the dead?…

Jesus Christ is the true God in human flesh. As stated in the beginning, everything was made in God’s image. Jesus proved to be the true image of God because of His actions and the way He lived His life until His death on the cross. As said in Colossians 1, Jesus is also stated to be the creator of all things. In the passage John 1, John states that “all things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made” (John 1:1-3).…

Who Is Jesus I am thankful to my grandparents and to my mother for introducing me as a toddler to Jesus. As a child, Jesus meant the man who died on a cross to forgive all of us of our sins. At 42 years of age, I still know that to be true, but oh how my definition of who Jesus really is has grown. As a Teen Raised in a very strict Pentecostal church in the 80’s and early 90’s, Jesus became a name that meant restriction, fear, and sometimes, even punishment.…

I believe one of the greatest gifts we have as Christians is the freedom to be authentic about who we are; scars, skeletons, and all. We know that our only evaluation, the only judgement that actually matters, comes from The Lord. And we know that The Lord sent His son, Jesus, in response to the conditions of our hearts and very being. Jesus came to save because He knew we needed a Savior.…
