Location

The society of of Portezuela is located in Northern Brazil and southern Colombia and Venezuela. A higher concentration of people live in the Amazon Basin. Due to the location of the Portezuelians they speak Spanish with a mix of Portuguese, which neighbouring societies can understand. The Portezuelians have a very strong Spanish influence in their culture because of Fransisco de Orellana. In honour of female tribe leaders and warriors he encountered on his voyage that resembled Amazons of Greek Mythology, a comparison that is assumed to have led him to name the river The Amazon. They believe he is the founder of the land they live on, that if it wasn't for him they wouldn't be there.
