Porter vs Thurman
They say styles make fights, if that’s the case “Show Time” Shawn Porter (26-1) vs Keith “One Time” Thurman (26-0) has the makings to be Fight of the Year. Right now there are speculations that this fight is set for 12-12-15 in Las Vegas Nevada. This fight is so Important for the sport, you have 2 young hungry Boxers looking to make a statement in the Welterweight division, A division which was ruled and reigned by the kingpin Floyd “Money” Mayweather who retired this year after tying Rocky Marciano’s record of (49-0). Now there are many players looking to take the place as the new king in town and the division is pretty stacked. Keith Thurman has been asking for a step up in competition and he may have what he’s been asking for. Aside from a fight with Floyd Mayweather (now out of the picture due to Mayweathers retirement ), a fight with Porter is one he has mentioned in a previous Interview we had with him back in 2014. Is this a step up fight for Keith? Does Porter have what it takes to bring the best or the worst out of Keith? Does Keith’s “One Time” Power have enough

In Keith’s 26 bouts Porter will be the first top 10 ranked fighter that he’s faced. According to Ring Magazine they have Thurman ranked #5 and Porter #6 . Does this imply Keith has been fighting bums? Absolutely not, Keith has fought whomever they have thrown his way and since his debut on HBO he’s been calling out all the top Welterweights but no one nor any other promotor obliged. So, this isn’t a matter of a fighter being brought up through the rankings carefully and protected, it’s about a fighter who was a threat and was being rejected. If you compare resumes Porter has been in with some top Welterweights, he has been in the ring with Devon Alexander in which he won the IBF Title, in his first defense he lost by way of majority decision to Kell Brook. A win over Shawn Porter will catapult Keith in to upper echelon

A potential blockbuster fight between Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan is reportedly “almost certain” to happen in the first or second quarter of next year as Top Rank chief Bob Arum begins to run his machinery in order to setup a meeting between the two well-known fighters. Bleacher Report indicated that Arum’s initial plan is to stage it in the Middle East, but not in Dubai. If it does not work out, then the bout will be held in Las Vegas, Arum said. The 28-year-old Khan (31-3, 19 KOs) had been clamoring for a mega-fight with pay-per-view king Floyd Mayweather Jr. for two years now and with the latter choosing former two-time world champion Andre Berto for his supposed to be final fight on September 12, the Bolton native missed on the opportunity again.…
