Porter Health Care System is a network of healthcare facilities. The company includes two hospital campuses, and seven outpatient facilities. They are located locally in the Northwest Indiana region. Campuses that are located in Porter, Lake, Starke, Newton, Marshall, and Jasper counties. They have over 350 physicians that represent over 50 different medical specialties. Porter Health Care System, is committed to medical excellence and patient-center care. Their mission statement is very straight forward, and they have a mission statement for their employees to. At the top level we have our executives. The CEO, COO, CFO, and CNO. After that there are directors for each department. Which they are the head of the departments, and report to the executives. Next in the chain of command is the managers for each department, who report to the directors. Then there are the Supervisors after that which, I have worked my way up to in my department. So as Supervisors we report the managers. Then lastly we have all the employees for each department. I personally see it as a very good way to have your chain of command. That is because you really don’t want to bother your upper management with a situation that is easy to fix. So having lots of different levels of command in between the executives, and the employees is a great thing. However even with all those levels in between it still important that upper management stays in contact, and has that relationship with its …show more content…
Most employees have no idea who he even is or his name. I feel that is sad that you work for a company that is supposed to be a staple in the community, and you don’t even know who the CEO is. Porter Regional Hospital is supposed to be all about Porter Cares, and our CEO is not showing that currently because he doesn’t take the time to even see anyone. So if I was a CEO, I would personally hold my self-accountable to make sure I take the time to try and meet with everyone throughout the company. Taking the time at least once or twice a week to take a walk through the whole hospital to at least say hi. Then also hold like quarterly meetings. Like a town hall meeting for employees, and the public to give an update on everything we are doing, and planning on doing just to stay visible in the public eye. Because that would show that you care about the employees, and the community. Which in terms would keep the Porter Cares culture
