Pornstar's Requiem: Movie Analysis

Sexual deviance is defined as sexual arousal or excitement that will lead to the point of an orgasm and/or erection, in which the object of that excitement is considered to be abnormal to the context of the learned and practiced societal norms. This definition can connect closely to the term paraphilia. I watched an episode from season 16 Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, which was entitled “Pornstar’s Requiem”. In this episode, Evie Barnes is a nerdy girl who attends Hudson University and she needs money desperately in order to pay her tuition. So this young lady sees an ad that offers her an opportunity to model and take pictures to make enough money to pay her tuition. Two men, who are filmmakers of pornographic material, portrayed themselves as the photographers for models. She is …show more content…
Evie has now opened the door for her to be sexually deviant to the point where she has to lower herself just to get money. In a way the men exploited her by making a video that has very strong explicit images. But this was what she wanted to do in order to make enough money to get her through school. I honestly think that’s how other women in the porn industry get started being sexually deviant. Meanwhile, these two freshman boys, Daniel and Matt who attends Hudson came across the video and decided to watch the film in their dorm room. They observe how the two men in the video were slapping Evie unconsciously around has they forcefully have sex with her. Matt recognized Evie from one the classes that he has with her and the boys came up with a deceitful plan. They decided to invite her to a party. Evie shows up to the party and they lure her into a bathroom where they raped her. They had a camera set up as they raped her which was hard core porn just like the video she was involved. They figured that she liked to be rough sexually because of the video they saw her

I watched Fatal Attraction with a friend and I said to him "that's what you get when you just want some fun for the weekend". Although going with Alex was a decision Dan made it was very unfortunate that the woman he had an affair with was extremly crazy. I doubt that Alex got pregnen, if she was obssesed with Dan she could have made everything up. I don't belive Dan seen as a hero at the end of the movie because it has his wife the one that had the last shot, literally in the theatrical ending and figuratevly in the orginal ending.…

Their sexual misconduct may expose them to health problems and social alienation. However, it is interesting to watch how they convince different ladies and take them to bed. John and Jeremy demonstrate social deviance by taking advantage of the women’s vulnerability to sexual emotions. Each character takes their ladies to secluded places where they induce them to erotic emotions that lead to sexual intercourse. The movie reveals how promiscuous men mislead girls and other married women to perform sexual activities (Franzese 2015:9).…

For my second written assignment I picked the movie Kinsey, a biographical drama of the life of a doctor who stirred much controversy during the decades of the 40’s and 50’s, as he studied the sexual behaviors of humans. The movie starts with Professor Kinsey being interviewed about his sexual history. During the interview, are flashbacks from Kinsey’s childhood and adolescence. The young child years show his father talking about modern inventions and demonizing them because they were the starting point of carnal sin, it also shows his experience as an adolescent as a member of the Boy Scouts relating to masturbation and a late teenage scene shows Kinsey disappointing his father by his chosen vocational intentions.…

The Goddess (1934) is a silent film made by Wu Yonggang, a well-known Chinese director in the 1930s. Hailed as “a masterpiece of ‘the first golden age of Chinese cinema’”, the film marked not only Wu’s directorial debut, but also “the pinnacle of [Ruan Lingyu’s] career” (Harris, 128). Ruan’s “mature, nuanced performance”, which was “subtle but at the same time powerful and rich”, proved to be a major factor in the movie’s success and lasting impact in Chinese cinema – even inspiring Hong Kong director Stanley Kwan to produce Centre Stage (1992), a biopic of Ruan, over fifty years later (Harris, 128; Rayns, 18). This response will examine and show how the depiction of Ruan Lingyu by male directors in both The Goddess and Centre Stage make use…
