Household Overcrowding in Nunavut 50% of households within Nunavut are classified as overcrowded as there is more than one person per room (Ruiz-Castell 3). The overcrowding has be directly linked to the lack of housing available (Ruiz-Castell 3). The average household was determined to be 6.6 persons, which classified as overcrowded for the average housing sizes (Ruiz-Castell 3). Food insecurity within households was found to be directly related to overcrowding of households (Ruiz-Castell 3).
