Popular Pet Peeves

Improved Essays
Did you know that one of the most popular pet peeve is people who constantly talk and won’t be quiet? That can get pretty annoying. There are millions of pet peeves. What are some of yours? Many people consider me a geek or nerd with fantasy so I know almost everything but other people don’t know everything there is to know. The worst thing is when I am trying to talk about how this person just did this in a movie or book and they just nod but don’t understand one little thing. I love Harry Potter, Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children, Adventure Time, Tim Burton and really any fantasy. I might be sad because someone just died but my friend hasn’t read or watched it so I can’t tell them. Only some of my friends have read Harry Potter …show more content…
I ask my brother to help me bring something down stairs and he walks down the stairs without helping me. Like really?! You just ignored me when I asked you to do it right in yo face. So I have to do it all by myself. Like one time I asked my brother to help my mom, stepdad and I to help with bringing down the Christmas ornaments but he stayed on the couch watching TV. I need so much help carrying heavy things because I don’t have that much muscles so I ask my dad or stepdad to do it and they forget. I need as much help as I can so can I please ask for help! Sometimes people are turtles. Slow as ever. I like to run from place to place because I get there faster and it’s better for your health but when people that walk slow in front of me is literally the devil. I try to squeeze past them but then they decide to clog up the area so I become a snail and slow down the super slow sidewalk and street. I seriously don’t know why slow walking people are always in front of fast walking people. People need to start running more. I wish I could just fly over them and land right in front of them and go on with my walking. Running is what I do best and you know

This assignment offers you the occasion to write a letter to the editor of any newspaper, business, or organization that you choose. Typically, these types of letters are written in response to articles in such publications, or in response to some local issue that might be also connected to a national one. Readers also respond to the inclusion of specific ads, especially their design or content, in publications. So, to begin with, consider an issue about which you have a strong opinion or “pet peeve”—something that bothers you or something that you think ought to be changed. Eventually you should also read carefully through one of your chosen publications—the one to which you will address your letter.…

Most days on either sides of the campus, a large crowd of students can be seen waiting to cross the street as cars and buses zoom by. “It seems impossible to pull a standard New Yorker move and dive into the street the minute I see an opportunity to beat the light,” says Guarrella. On that particular day when she almost got run over Guarrella was eager to see the light turn yellow so she ran into the street to get ahead of the large crowd that would have undoubtedly slowed her down. Something Lilia Melani, Literature Professor is all also familiar with “It is tempting, particularly if you're pressed for time, to run across the street even if cars may be approaching.”…

Los Angeles has the reputation of having the worst traffic in the world, and of course, everyone would spend more time tapping brakes on freeways if it was Thanksgiving. The picture of the jammed 405 Freeway depicts the Thanksgiving rush in Los Angeles well, and people make fun by saying that the freeway 405 has the name because “it takes you '4 o' 5' hours to get anywhere.” () Driving on Freeway 405 is infuriating not only because drivers have to drive slowly, but also because when everyone wanted to get back home as soon as possible, some people would change lanes, and lead to car accidents. In addition, since families want everyone to be back home around dinner time, they can get mad at a member who arrives late and claims that he or she could leave from work earlier. Yes, having to drive slowly is annoying, but what really touches people’s nerves is that people act upon their interests without trying to understand each other.…

In my family, I tend to be considered the misfit. I don’t have the same interests, the same personality, or the same aspirations as my relatives. This usually leads to confrontations between me and my parents, and those confrontations always conclude the same way. I often feel that I have to pretend to have the same characteristics them in order to be accepted, however, it’s extremely tedious when I loathe everything that they love. Firstly, I am interested in things that the majority of my family members have never even heard of.…

I am Italian, Irish, French, British, I also have a bit of Native American in me. Even though I am all these things, I have almost no idea how to speak Italian, or French I don 't know where my ancestors were located or really anything about my heritage besides how to cook Italian meals. The only place I have been is the United States and only 4 States Pennsylvania, New York, California, and Florida. I relate to the story of "The Frog in the Well" because I have no experience of my own culture or heritage, so how can I have any understanding of someone else 's? When discussing other customs, culture, heritage, and religion I try to stay as open minded as possible, because I have a narrow view from how I grew up.…
