In Texas a federal law states the minimum drinking age is 21, however does that stop adolescent from consuming alcohol. “According to results from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health published in 2015, 34.7% of 15-year-olds reported having at least one drink in their lives. About 8.7 million people ages 12 to 20 (22.8%) reported drinking alcohol in the past month” (Underage drinking, 2015, P.1). These statistics prove that the federal law has not stopped adolescents from consuming alcohol and it is one of the most substances abused by adolescents.
