You have to take what life throws at you and make the best out of it. My best friend told me about her job. She was working at Chuck E Cheese during this time. She did everything from being a party host, to wearing the Chuck E costume, and interacting with the kids. So one day, I decided I should look for a job and where should I apply.…

The Great Depression was a hard and trying time that resulted in many great discoveries and accomplishments and the beef industry was no exception. Prior to the Depression, beef farmer Ed Lasater began to introduce Brahman lines to his Hereford herd, in hopes of increasing heat and disease, stressing milk production. After he died, his son Tom Lasater began to combine the Brahman and Hereford cattle with some Shorthorn bulls. Lasater then began to combine the Brahman-Hereford and the Brahman-Shorthorn and this resulted in the first Beefmaster cows. He began breeding this herd to further develop the breed.…
Thomas will run out of fuel in the middle of the desert in New Mexico, transporting cargo Tennessee and there is no nearby station and help will come in 24 hours. In a distance Thomas can see some black trains and thought it was his rescue and was like, well my rescue came early. As they were coming closer Thomas was starting to think that they were not the rescue because the rescue is a different color. He then realized they were Gangsta trains and he was sweating a lot and getting really nervous. As the Gangsters were getting closer, he was thinking about what to do or what to say.…
I was just getting ready to head into Applebee’s for my birthday and there were lots of people eating at Applebee’s. Applebee’s is locally in Milestone plaza, Germantown, Md. The first Applebee’s opened on November 19, 1980 at Decatur, Georgia. It was opened by Bill and T.J. Palmer. After they bought their second restaurant they sold their company to W. R. Grace and Company in 1983.…
Chick-fil-a located on 1262 Northlake Blvd, Lake Park, FL 33403 is an amazing break from the traditional fast food chains most of us are accustomed to. The warm and inviting environment mixed with the savory food is why they get five stars in my book. Although they specialize in chicken, they also serve salads, ice cream, and milkshakes. Along with their delicious lemonade and sweet tea. Their authenticity doesn't stop with their chicken sandwich they also have their own sauce to go along with it.…
Fixtures of the northern sky, the Big and Little Dippers, swing around the North Star, Polaris, once a day or once every 23 hours and 56 minutes. Polaris marks the north celestial pole around which all the stars of the northern sky appears to rotate. It also marks the end of the Little Dipper’s handle and the whole constellation (Ursa Minor) is circumpolar, which means it’s always above the horizon in northern latitudes to as far south as the tropic of Cancer (23.5 degrees north latitude). The Big Dipper is part of the larger constellation, Ursa Major. It ascends in the northeast on spring evenings and descends in the northwest on fall evenings.…

A Taste of Great Quality There are thousands of different restaurants across the country where people can either wait five minutes for their lunch in a drive-thru lane but pay for rude service and processed food, and some where formal attire is required and food and beverages are so expensive they break the bank. What if there was a restaurant that offered both? A restaurant where service is top-of- the-line, food is warm and fresh, and the setting is elegant but inexpensive? A restaurant like this is not easy to find but thankfully, it does exist.…
Although he was young, his childhood ended abruptly at the age of six when his father passed away. At the age of 7, he had to take care of his younger brother and sister while his mother had to go to work. Although he was in school, he had to drop out of school during his sixth-grade year because he did poorly in school. Later in his life, he would go on to do many jobs such as a service station clerk, lawyer, fireman and many other jobs but he failed. In 1956, after receiving his first Social Security check for $105, the Colonel packed his white Cadillac with a pressure cooker, timers, and his prepackaged herbs and spices, and set out to license his chicken recipe to as many restaurants as he could visit.…

Alyssa, I agree with you that businesses and societies should shift their focus to keeping sustainability in mind versus the unlimited economic growth they currently have in mind. The Doughnut concept is very interesting to me and made me wonder, how the “safe” boundaries are determined, and of the three boundaries we have gone over is there a way to cross back or are we out of luck? There is a lot more into making sure our future and environments are not in jeopardy for the future but I think for too long people have grown accustom to having an endless supply to what they need that it might be too late for some people to change their thinking and follow the concepts Raworth describes in her video.…
Ever since the mid 1900’s, the fast food industry has developed into something bigger than what it was when it started, this book, Fast Food Nation, was written by a man named Eric Schlosser. “McDonald’s French fries were once flavored with beef tallow, a processed form of hard white fat found on the kidneys and loins of cattle”. The fast food industry in this nation has grown fast and if it were not for the speedy service system, Automobiles, or teenagers then the fast food industry would not be so successful today. The McDonald’s brothers, Richard and Maurice McDonald, created the speedy service system in the year of 1937; they started out as a drive in restaurant. They had carhops and short order cooks, and at that time, they were serving food that involved using glass plates, glass cups, and silver ware.…
Food Inc Human Biology “Faster, fatter, bigger, cheaper” Farming today has changed more in the last 20 years, than it ever has. In the 1930’s McDonald’s was first started fast food/ “drive in” and is today known as the largest purchaser of beef, pork, chicken, tomatoes, lettuce and apples. The reason fast food blew up is because of inexpensive food, cheap help, and replaceable employees. It’s no secret that fast food can feed a family of 4 for under $20, as where $20 will not get you far at the grocery store.…
