In the middle ages the pope was the highest and head of the Christian church. All the popes in the middle ages where powerful and highly influential towards society. In medieval times many people went to church meaning that the pope gained great power. Because the pope was god’s representative the pope got to choose what the church was to teach as well as how the church was to act. The pope would live in many now famous places like the Vatican where he would work and live. At the Vatican the pope and his group of church leader would make rules and laws as well as govern the church. The pope would be a well-known man who would get a nice place to stay as well as plenty to eat and drink.

They would train with swords, battle axes, mace and daggers. They would then use these skills for battles as well as everyday duties like guarding leaders and the castle. In most circumstances the vassal would be a knight or a baron but sometimes they would be another person of nobility. A medieval vassal’s main duty was to be the assistant for their feudal lord. Their lord could be anyone from a clergy to a royal king. They also did jobs like counselling, assisting at the court and overseeing the peasants work. To become a vassal, you had to take an oath to your master that ensured lifelong help and support, they then took the oath to an official ceremony where the man would become the vassal for life. Once a vassal died the family of the vassal would choose another male in their family to take the role of the vassal for the lord. Vassals were very loyal and supported the lord for live.
