In the words of Pope Francis, “...there is no humane way of killing another person.” The death penalty, also known as capital punishment, is banned in 19 states, killed hundreds of people, and keeps innocent people anxious that they may die for a crime they didn’t commit. Although it was meant to serve justice, it is heavily biased against the defendant, filled with overzealous officials, and extorts the unfortunate. Therefore, it is crucial to combat it.
