All creatures have conflict, in the novel The OutSiders there is a great amount of conflict. The novel by S.E. Hilton follows a fourteen year old boy named Ponyboy. Ponyboy and a friend named Johnny are part of a gang named otherwise known as “greasers”; the two get involved in a murder and must run away. In the process of eluding capture the boys become heros despite there ruff and tuff appearance. However, one does not live to bask in the glory. Ponyboy experiences turmoil and conflict of varied severities: friends, family, and enemies will be his largest problems.

Darry yells at soda before hitting Ponyboy, this is strange because Darry is not commonly physical in this manner. “”You keep your trap shut…” . When Darry yells at Pony it is clear he is frustrated, this frustration leads to conflict between them. Even though it isn’t very often in the book the boy still fight even though they are family; conflict is unavoidable even for the closest of people.
