Pony says, “But I remembered Dally pulling Johnny through the window of the burning church; Dally giving us his gun, although it could mean jail for him; Dally risking his life for us, trying to keep Johnny out of trouble.” Which is from The Outsiders page 131. Nobody really saw Dally as a hero, but he really was. In any case, Dally would stick up for Johnny and Ponyboy so they wouldn’t be hurt or even dead cause of Soc’s. Finally, Dally at the end wasn’t recognized as a hero, but he really was, and he did a lot for people. He might not of been the greatest person, but he sure was a hero.
Therefore, in my opinion Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally were all heroes in their own type of way. In conclusion, Pony was a true hero along with Johnny, and Dally was a hero that had some problems but was still a hero. In my opinion, they were all heroes, but they were all heroes together, which made them great friends. It is a tough argument to really talk about, knowing that some people think they’re heroes and some think they’re not.
