Ponyboy is a dynamic character because he goes through many changes. He has many life events that make him change. In the beginning of the story, Ponyboy is innocent. He doesn't do anything to get it trouble. In the book, Ponyboy states that “So Soda and I stay out of trouble as much as we can.” (pg.4). Ponyboy is the youngest member of the gang so he follows the footsteps of his brothers. This means that he stays out of trouble because he does not know what to do. Ponyboy loses his innocence when he sees Bob dead, and Johnny with a bloody switchblade. The book says that “Johnny,” I nearly screamed. “What are we gonna do? They put you in the electric chair, for killing people!” (pg. 50). He is no longer innocent as he may be
