Pony Boy Should Go To A Foster Home

Decent Essays
Do you think Pony-boy should go to a foster home? Do you think he will be happier and stay out of trouble with his foster parents? If you even think somebody wants him? These' is all tough questions, that are hard to answer. The truth is that we all have opinion's different opinions. The judge should not put Pony-boy in a foster home. This is my opinion. I think this because he needs to stay with family, he also needs to be in a place he is familiar with, and his brother Darry has already given up being a Soc just to take care of him.

My first reason is he needs to remain with family. The reason is all kids act or live better while they are around relatives. Research shows that their child's behavior is 90% while around family,

Remaining in his home town will mean he is used to the surroundings, and he can look at after himself. If he moved he would not know his surroundings, and could not protect himself as good. He also could not have used his environment to help him with his surroundings.

My third reason is that Pony-boy should be appreciative of Darry his older brother, because he has given up so much for Pony-boy and Soda to remain with him. He could have been a pro football player and Soc. He decided not to be, because he loves what little family he has left.

Last is my counter argument. A counter argument is only used in a persuasive essay to show the cons of the topic. My counter argument is Pony-boy should be put in a foster home, because he has almost died, he drinks and smokes, and he is in a gang. Pony-boy almost died when his hide out caught on fire, and there were children inside. So Pony-boy and Jonny rescued the children but became injured. Later in the story Jonny died.

There are claims and counter claims of this topic. I still support my claim that Pony boy should stay with his family, because he knows the environment, he needs to stay with family, Darry has also given up countless opportunities for Pony boy to stay with

    b. The Foster Care system is designed to temporarily protect and nurture children whose parents are unable or unwilling to care for them. Those parents must become stronger, healthier and in a position to provide a safe loving home for their children. Sadly, however, too many children spend years in the system, moving from foster home to foster home, and from one school district to another. They may never feel stable or connected, lacking the family and community ties that are so critical to young individuals learning to make their own way in the…

“Staying Put” is an article written by Scott Russell Sanders in which he attempts to convince the readers that people can thrive in their homeland instead of moving. Sanders begins his argument with an anecdote of the Miller family, then he states the social and philosophical benefits of staying put. As Sanders have suggested, a person becomes admirable when they devote themselves to their homeland regardless of hardships they will encounter. Moreover, he also claims that people must have a homeland of their own before having the ability to appreciate other cultures. Despite all the benefits that Sanders brings up for staying put; many people are better off moving due to of various social, ideological and environmental issues.…

A newborn boy has just been declared a safe haven baby! His mother requested all rights be given to the Department of Human Services. If moms do not wish to keep their child, they should be adopted by safe havens. Even though they are still abandoning their children, every state should adopt a safe haven law because many of them would be saved and could go to better homes. A survey from the HHS Administration for Children and Families found that 65 babies were abandoned in public places in 1991 and 105 in 1998.…

FOSTER CARE AND THE EFFECTS ON CHILDREN Foster care is care provided for children whose families are temporarily unable to care for them (Merck Manuals, 2007). This definition to me seems to simple cause of the fact that a lot of children that go into the foster care system are there longer than they should be. Knowing a few people who have been in the foster care system, they seem to make it really difficult for the biological parents to get the children back even after fulfilling the requirements by the state. This in turn affects the child negatively, causing lack of trust, depression, and other mental disturbances.…

Ponyboy does not think of his trait as one of Dally’s positive traits as Ponyboy he believes that Dally’s dedication is selfish so he only cares about protecting himself. There have been a few situations where Dally’s dedication is shown. An example of a situation is when the children were trapped inside the burning church on chapter 6, pages 77 to 80. Dally stayed behind and advised Ponyboy and Johnny to do the same and when they did not listen, he ran after them but did not enter the church. In the story, it may seem like Darry dislikes Ponyboy, though I know otherwise: “Suddenly I realized, horrified, that Darry was crying. He didn’t make a sound, but tears were running down his cheeks. I hadn’t seen him cry in years, not even when Mom and Dad were killed” (Hinton,98). Darry, Sodapop, and Ponyboy are three brothers who lost their parents in a car crash. Darry, the oldest (20), was forced to drop out of college and take care of his two younger brothers by working at a Construction site.…
