Pompeii By Robert Silverberg: A Literary Analysis

Lots of people have had a tough time in their life, but one rare thing is a volcano coming and erupting on your home and city. For the life of many people in Pompeii village people lost teir valuables and maybe the loss of a loved one.Pompeii is a village in history where many people lived and tried to survive a volcano incident. The village was constructed in many different ways and some you would not think of today. There are many unique ways of thinking about both stories and how they interact with each-other. This story takes place in a village called Pompeii. In the story the volcano by the village erupts, leaving layers of ash and dust to research and figure out what was there. The story tells about how the Pompeii people survived and describes how their village is constructed In “Pompeii was one of the old Latin Towns. The streets were always lively with shining chariots and bright red trappings; the open-air theaters rocked with laughing crowds; sham battles and athletic sports were free for the asking in the great stadium.” The Dog of Pompeii is a fiction, entertainment story to show a friendship between a dog and their owner wor together. The blind boy Tito has a helpful, friendly dog named Bimbo. Bimbo takes care of Tito with everyday things such as food, walking, and helping him from life and death situations. “ Tito and his dog Bimbo lived (if you could call it living) under the wall where it joined the inner gate.” “He was blind- he had been blind from birth.” Bimbo helps Tito try to survive this volcano and get both their food and water.
