Most of the time the team members reasoned his absenteeism and tardiness are due to his personal health conditions. The team tried to sympathize with John’s situation and attempted to manage the conflict by accommodating and sharing his work. Unfortunately, these accommodations did not last longer when the frequency of John’s behaviors increased. Team members finally approached John’s supervisor for a possible solution.
Conflict Management Approaches: Information Technology industry is very fast paced industry and resolving conflicts quickly help teams to function without undue stress. If I were to resolve the above-mentioned issue I will adhere to the following steps:

4. Resolve the Conflict: Establish guidelines and Reevaluate as needed. Identify Problem /Conflict Behaviors: The key at this stage is to invite John and team members separately to share their concerns. This gives an opportunity to dig deep into the concerns, to identify the underlying concerns of both parties and to find an alternative that meets both sets of concerns. In this case, my assumptions for John’s chronic tardiness and absenteeism are health issues, cumulative boredom doing the same work for multiple years, no promotional opportunities. Knowing facts and understanding the concerns will encourage team members to be assertive and
