The saints go marching on Smith Wigglesworth born on June 8, 1959 in a small village called Menston located in Yorkshire England to John and Martha Wigglesworth; little did they know that their son would become one of the Generals in the great army of the Lord. Wigglesworth was born in whales at a time when a man named Booth had distanced himself from organized religion and started the Salvation Army, and the people of Whales were praying for a mighty move of God. Little did the people of Whales know that the answer to their prayer was already born but serving God was the furthest thing from the mind of Mr. & Mrs. Wigglesworth being very poor John Wigglesworth worked long hours just to provide for his wife and four children. …show more content…
One of Smith?s greatest sorrows he would ever have to face was just around corner while on his way back home from a trip he received word his dear Polly had collapsed from a heart attack. Smith rushed to her bed side and found her spirit had already departed her body he rebuked the devil and her spirit returned to her body but not for long God spoke to Smith ?This is the time I want to take her home to myself? Polly Wigglesworth went to be with the Lord January 1, 1913. After Polly?s death Wigglesworth began to travel with his daughter and son in-law around the country. Smith methods were often misunderstood by others but Smith never gave people opinions a second thought. As Smiths faith began to increase; the Lord began to teach him that faith should be acted upon that faith that faith acted upon creates. The average believer seems to think that God only moves in a sovereign way. Smith Wigglesworth knew better his ministry was built upon a compassion for others and a solid rock of faith in God a faith that would raise the dead. During his life there are fourteen documented accounts of God using Smith to bring someone back to life.
