Pollution: The Terra Aqua Balanced Ecosystem

Pollution is a substance of anything that is harmful for the environment. Examples: acid rain, road salt, oil, and etc. We continue to use fossil fuels, road salt and fertilizer even though it would cause damage to ponds, lakes and other aquatic ecosystems is because human population needs to the kind of materials for needs for our industries and our environment in order to survive.The normal uncontaminated rain should be 5.0, in nature the pH range for acid rain is 6.5-8.5,however some other things that fall into the same range is blood because in the human body only 75% of it is made up of water, milk including because the range for this product is between 6.7 and 6.5. The kind of effects the fertilizer have on the water system is that the fertilizer would make the water smell and change color into brown to a deep green. On the terrestrial ecosystem it would limit the amount of nutrients in the soil for the plants to grow in a healthy way. The effects the salt have on the water is that the salt can danger the plants in fact with salt it would make the soil be less fertile and bare, with the aquatic system the salt would kill the sea creatures and the plants in the aquatic biomes. Road salt can cause danger into both systems damaging the aquatic ecosystem by killing the plants and sea creatures, with the terrestrial ecosystem it would make the soil weak in terms of the lack of nutrients for plants to grow. The role the control terra aqua column has in this experiment is that the certain types of substances would harm both systems including the earthworm in the terra column while having just a water substance would sustain the balance of both
