Pathogens are considered to be responsible for millions of deaths every year because people drink water polluted with deadly pathogens. They have 16 of the 20 most polluted cities in the world and their pollution is so extreme it has caused acid rain on its neighboring countries like Korea and Japan. They have so much pollution that even the United states of America which is halfway across the world has felt Chinas pollution impact. The air is so heavily polluted it is considered dangerous by European standards. Adding to the fact that Chinas air is so heavily polluted only one percent of Chinas citizens has access to safe air. Pollution in china has caused an increase of cancer in both urban and rural areas but mostly in rural areas. The types of cancer vary from lung cancer caused by breathing so many pollutants in the air to gastronomical cancer caused by drinking polluted water. Millions of Chinese are sick due to the effects of contamination and pollution in their drinking water. China has now the second greatest economy but at what price? Is money worth more than the wellbeing of millions of people?
