Growing up, politics were a big part of my life. Some of my earliest memories were in front of the television, watching election results roll in; I could not to wait cast my vote in the 2016 presidential election. One can only imagine my disappointment when the two major nominees for president turned out to be Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. On one hand, we have a candidate who has dedicated her entire life to politics, leaving behind a trail of scandals, and is only concerned about being the most powerful she can be. On the other hand, we have a candidate who cannot even piece together a complete thought without engaging in a screaming match with the opposing view. After examining these candidates, I had to search for an alternative. That is when I found Gary Johnson, the Libertarian party’s candidate in the election. When I started looking at his take on the issues, I found that my political beliefs align with his more so than any of the other candidates. America has gone on too long supporting the major party candidates only interested in power and controlling the lives of everyday Americans. It is time we elect a candidate who will scale back the government involvement to let Americans live freely. Hillary Clinton’s entire political career is polluted with scandals. Even if I agreed with her on the issues, I could not stomach voting for someone with so many scandals.
