The results from taking the politics match is my Personal Score 58% and Economic Score 39%. To be honest I did not know what to expect from taking this quiz. I felt that if anything, I know that for sure I would not be “Hard core Conservative”. The quiz states that if I were to label myself, I am a Moderate Liberal Populist. To be honest when I began taking the test I knew that some of the issues that were being mentioned so of them I had no idea where I on. As I stated at the beginning of this course I have never been involved in politics and the issues at hand. So with that being said my expectations for my results were not that clear. The process of political socialization goes beyond an individual learning information about how the world actually operates, and instead relates to an individual developing a point of view about how people and institutions should operate.” (From Book Chapter 1 and section 1.3) From reading the definition of what political socialization all the way back in week 1, I have taken time to figure out who and what were some impacts on my political views. Throughout chapter one in the book it states that some of political influences are our parents. (Chapter 1.3) In my case that is true but not to see their views. My parents are conservatives and are very firm on their beliefs. With that being said they did teach me to hear others and their opinions and see for myself if I want to agree or not. I knew from watching my parents, I knew that I did not believe in their beliefs. Another great influence in my political ideology has to be my sister. I have seen her go from where I am, to not really knowing where I stand in politics, to knowing exactly where she stands on issues. I have to say she has been the greatest influence on my political ideology. She never lectured me on issues but simply informed me on what is going on and how I should really get involved. Lastly I feel that a great influence on my politics beliefs would have to be social media. I know it might be cliché to say but hey when it is the truth I can hide from it. Every day when I am on my lunch break the first thing I check is my phone. I am on websites like Buzzfeed News, twitter and even posts from some of my Facebook friends. Out of all my influences, I feel that social media is where I was able to hear my own voice.
