This conflict that was brought along by the audaciousness of the Europeans and the concern of the natives. Although most of the initial contact between these two groups was peaceful, the first generation of Europeans to be born in America were ignorant to the substantial amount of help their parents had received from the natives. This resulted in a feeling of injustice in the Europeans, because the natives had control over the majority of the land as well as being able to thrive off of the land and rivers of the local lands. As this generation began to publically show their distaste for the natives, the King Philip’s War erupted. One example of two groups opposing each others views is in the 1996 election. Clinton promised to balance the economy, an almost unheard of saying from a democrat. The republican party embraced this, while many ‘die-hard democrats’ continued their support. Although he did cross party lines in saying this, he kept with his democratic-ways and followed it with his assurance to continue with many government-sponsored amenities, such as health insurance and public education. It is impossible to tell if these claims won him the election, but they are thought to help.
