How does our current political system affect the way in which health care policies are implemented?
Health policy is a set course of action or inaction undertaken by government or health care organizations to obtain a desired health outcome (Abood, S.). The health care policy making process shapes both the public and private sectors, the overall healthcare system and the political forces that affect that system (Abood, S.). Policies which are related to public health come from local, state and federal legislation, regulations and/or court rulings which govern the provision of health care services. There are also business and institutional policies which are related to health care, these policies are developed by the private sector
