Political Party Research Paper

The media portrays that the political parties; Democrats and Republicans, are completely different. The view that is presented to citizens is that the Democrats are for the colored and women while the Republicans are for the rich, caucasian, old men. The only real difference between the two parties are that they have different opinions on social issues. For example, one party is pro-choice, wants more peace, for gay marriage, adoption for gays, and transgender rights, citizenship for immigrants, while the opposite party opposes. Democrats are the ones for these examples and the Republicans are the ones that oppose. Democrats do not necessarily believe that anyone who comes to the United States should have a right to stay but they do believe that they should be granted with the right to citizenship. The United States government has provided a program that allows immigrants to gain their citizenship here but the program is very challenging to get into, and the process takes too long for them to be able to stay in the United States until they are fully documented. The solution that the Democrats have it to make the systems process less strict and more flexible for the immigrants to qualify and a shorter waiting time. After this fix, Republicans and other citizens would not have to worry about immigrants flooding the United States undocumented, taking their jobs and not paying taxes. Republicans believe that it is a lot of work to change the system to fit the needs of the immigrants. They believe that it may be easier to banned all illegal immigrants from the United States. What some Republicans do not understand nor see is that the undocumented working immigrants are only trying to better their lives and better their families lives just as they are trying to do with their families. Also the immigrants are not taking American jobs away from them, they are actually being paid under the table in most cases and taking a job that no one else would like to do and with that job they are getting paid way less than the average American is getting
