Political Parties in Texas run the same as they do within the United States, we are a Republican Party and a Democratic Party. The Republican Party is a party for supporters for free market capitalism, free enterprise, fiscal conservatism, strong national defense, deregulation, restrictions on labor unions, and is ideology is American conservatism. The Republican Party is also known as the GOP, Grand Old Party. The Republican Party was founded by the anti-slavery activists, modernists, ex-Whigs, and ex-Free Soilers back in 1854. As for the Democratic Party, seeks to provide government interventions and regulations in the economy. The party’s philosophy of modern liberalism advocates social and economic equality along with the welfare states. The Democratic Party are for supporters for labor unions, affordable college tuitions, universal health care and equal opportunity, consumer protection, and environmental protection from the party’s economic policy. …show more content…
But in Texas we have our own elections for governor, secretory, senate, house of representative, president, and so on. When it comes to presidential elections Texas had almost always been a blue state (democratic state), up until around the 1980s. More than likely whoever the winner for the presidential election wither it be blue or red (Republican) will determine the rest of the election winners (senator, house of representative, etc.). With Texas being such a big state, it can be a big games changer in the presidential elections.
