Unlike the previous civil wars, the opposing sides that emerged in this decade did not intend to achieve partial objectives regarding the political and social order; not even a simple change of government. According to the manifests that made their emergence public, the ultimate goal of a successful revolution would completely change the political, economic and social structures.
