Political, And Social Consequences Of The American Revolution

The Wars cost Britain a lot of money. Britain wanted the colonies contribute and pay for the war expenses. Therefor THE British empire passed new laws that made colonies pay taxes to the British government. The colonists disagreed and began to protest against the new law. In 1774, the Americans held the first Continental Congress, they wanted the British to treat them more reasonably, but Britain ignored these ideas and sent troops to control the colonists. The American revolution began, because the colonists wanted independence from Britain. As the war began, many people took sides. The People who wanted independence from the British empire were called Patriots. On the secondary hand was the Loyalists how where loyal to Britain.
