However, when I look back at my summer now, I can honestly say it has been the most rewarding time of my life. Whether grabbing pizza with my organizer before heading out back in the field, playing phone bank bingo (a hilarious game around the office), or hearing Fight Song play at any rally or event on repeat, I can say without a doubt I would not have done one thing different this summer. Through my Fellowship with the Hillary Clinton Campaign, I have also realized just how crucial political activism is in society. Political activism is not just protesting, but it’s making a difference in your community day by day. And ironically enough, political activism has taught me not just to stand up for my opinions, but to respect everyone else’s. Whether it be a Bernie Sanders supporter, a Donald Trump fan, or anyone in between, I have realized that for our democracy to work, and for society to function, we must all respect each other and our opinions.
