For this project I decided to turn my essay into a children's book. I choose this type of multimedia because it is something that I have the most creativity and comfort doing. I also feel like this is going to be a good way to portray my topic. It is not a serious enough subject for me to have my audiences sit down and listen to a radio broadcast, but it is not so serious where little kids can not understand it. My audience is ages five to eight years old in a classroom listening to story time. I am going to make the book very upbeat. I am going to present Polish dancing through a way that kids can relate; show and tell. My goal is for me to amuse my audience, but at the same time inform them on a different culture’s dances. I put pathos in my book by making it relatable to my audience. It evoked emotions out of them because they have been in that situation. For example, most children know how it feels to be nervous to present infant of their peers. I also had pathos in my book through the main character. When she actually presented I and I talked about how you could see the excitement in her eyes. Almost every page has logos. The girl presenting the dress and talking about the customs was telling us facts on Polish dances. Putting in ethos into my paper was little bit harder since it was based off of a child. The one spot that had ethos was when the young child quoted her mom. By mentioning her mom it gave her some credibility. Overall, I believe this was a success in turning my essay into a child’s book. The transition went smooth. Polish dancing is not a serious topic or complex so, it was easy to simplify my essay to a child’s level. Although I did bring it down to a lower level it was not to low; I kept it very age appropriate. With the pictures and common story line the project was very effective.
