Essay On Police Victimization

If you attempt to Google “victimization of those that work in the system”, the first thing that is going to come up is someone else asking, “Can police officers be victimized?” Needless to say, I felt that the Internet could not help me, so if this makes no sense, I apologize. Anyways, I thought about that question on Google that had a seemingly obvious answer. Those who work in the system are only human, meaning that of course, they can be victimized. If we look at them just as people, the list of types of victimization could be never ending. We have discussed throughout the length of this course the many different ways that the general public and individuals can be victimized. However, for the purpose of this paper, we are only going to look at how they can be victimized whilst on the job or because of their job. The people that I will be looking at in this section are particularly police officers, but also attorneys, judges, and people of that sort.

People are taking out their frustrations on police officers all over the country. This morning I watched a video of people chanting “Pigs in a blanket, fry ‘em like bacon.” There was another story of a police officer and father of two being shot in what many different news outlets are saying signals the beginning of open warfare on police officers.
