The use of force is a big controversial topic everyone around the world is talking about. People are beginning to think law enforcement and doctors use of force is too much when not necessary. But then again how much force is too much force they can use on a person. According to doctors and police officers they can reconcile with the use of force by evaluating and taking the positive aspect of each situation. Police officers have the duty and responsibility to enforce the laws and ordinances within their jurisdiction, maintaining order, and assist those within the community. When a law enforcement officer uses force on a subject it will be classified into one of three main categories which are justifiable, excessive, and deadly force. The authority for law enforcement officers to use force is important because it involves many patrolman on the street, the correction officers in prisons and the courts where excessive use of force are held. While attempting to make an arrest the law enforcement officer will use the proper force to make the arrest. No officer really knows if or when the use of force must be applied until the situation presents itself. The officers do go through training in department policy, procedures, classroom rules, and practical training in the use of force reduces criminal and civil liability on the officer and the department. Utilizing legal mandates can prepare officers to use force the appropriate way. The documentation kept on the officer allows the department to see if the officer is i engaging in misconduct, if so it can be corrected by disciplinary action,
