Police officers over use their position and power. Enforcing authority is a necessity in today’s society. Nonetheless, there is a need for keeping the enforcers of authority accountable for their actions. The use of force sometimes might be necessary out people abuse that power. Police officers over use their position and power against the people who they are supposed to be protecting. Is it right that police officers use force in an uncomplicated situation’s overusing their power? Police officers abuse their position of authority. For example, in the case of Trayvon Martin, where a police officer shot Trayvon for “having” a weapon on himself at the moment. Charges want to be held on Zimmerman for manslaughter for “failed to identify” on the neighborhood watch or a citizens around that night according to homicide detective Christopher Serino. Because of Zimmerman’s injuries were much too small to the reported “life treating situation with Trayvon with a weapon”. There elegantly accusing Zimmerman of being racist to that’s why he shot Trayvon not in self defense. Their intentions on trying to keep the situation safe for themselves and the situation that they are in are only for their safety but they don’t think of the right and safer way of handling the situation. They act before they think and they leave the families of the victims scared, sad, and more importantly unsafe but they people that are suppose to be protecting them. And by the press releasing the stories and being read and seen by other people around the world only makes the people upset and go against the police officers. Which occurs more brutal stories on people seeing that police overuse their power and just because their police officers they don't get that much justice done to them because their on the side of the law. Everyone says you can't fight against the law because 99% of the time the law will win no matter what. One can say just because their on the side of the law that the power goes to their head and think just because with the law that there aren’t doing anything wrong. In their eyes they see that they did the right thing at the right time but in reality they could have handled all the situation differently. Some of the police officers are really racist and they use racial profiling on the defensive people. I can say that yes their are good police officers that know what their doing in these types of situations but now that the
