I gathered all the pertinent information needed to complete this report. While speaking to THOMPSON, I notice she received approximately 7 calls from (530-636-6249) on today's date. I attempted to call the telephone number and someone answer the number while trying to deprive their voice. After I called the number again, I was unable to get anyone on the phone. I was not able to get the name of the person nor company that THOMPSON sent the money to. I also wasn't able to get her check number nor the exact date or time she sent the money to the company/person. I requested for THOMPSON to notify the Police Department if she recalls any information or later finds out more information related to this case. I informed THOMPSON she may want to change her number if that option is available for her. I also informed her not to answer any calls from any number's she's not familiar with. She also was advised to confirmed that her checking account numbers were in fact change as she requested. I issued her a victim brochure along with the case number assigned to this incident. She was advised this incident would be documented on file at the city of Beaufort Police

On 09/07/2006 at 1011 hours, I was patrolling eastbound on Highway 10 at Ives Road. I observed a vehicle matching the description of one I know to be occupied by a wanted person and possibly involved in several thefts in the area. I observed the vehicle was parked on the side of the northbound lane, facing south. I then observed a white female I know to be suspect, Patti Jo Denoon, exit the passenger side of the vehicle and sit on a brick, speaking to several other persons. I knew P. Denoon to have an active Sherwood warrant and a Parole Violation warrant.…

Fraud Case Analysis Rita Crundwell started working for the City of Dixon’s finance department as a high school student, but she eventually became the city’s treasurer and comptroller in 1983. Seven years after her appointment, she began a twenty-two-year fraud scheme that enabled her to embezzle approximately $54 billion dollars from the taxpayers she was serving. To embezzle the municipality’s funds unnoticed, Crundwell discretely opened a bank account at the Fifth and Third Bank where city’s bank accounts were housed. She listed the bogus account as the Reserve Sewer Capital Development Account (RSCDA) Reserve Fund. Soon after, Crundwell began transferring funds from various accounts to increase the Capital Development Fund account.…

Ever since sophomore year of high school I’ve always wanted to become a police officer. When we were told to go to the website ihaveaplaniowa.gov to take tests to figure out what kind of jobs we would like, corrections were one of the first results. I knew I didn’t want corrections, but something along those lines seemed to sound right for me. I thought about it then I knew I wanted to be a police officer. Dealing with crimes while they were taking place, chasing down ‘bad guys’, and just simple community services to make people’s lives easier.…

Some of the factors that limit the utility of the policesting operations is the basic operations can be expensivebecause of the extendedperiodthat it sometimes last (Newmann, G 2007). At times sting operations can last over a long period with this said this can cause a great demand on staff also investigation and recovery of stolen property can be expensive (Newman, G.2007). Police officers being fired for aiding to their families during Hurricane Katrina may seem very absurd and outrageous, but if you look into it, it may not have been that crazy. I believe that the police officers have a job to do and they should not abandon them. I understand that they have families to take care of, but they did agree ,under an oath, that they would be there for their job. Your job is something that is very important to you and not being there can affect not only you, but other people as well. If other people in other occupations did this, the job industry would deteriorate, even worse, it will hurt people who go to these people for protection, security, and many other reasons.…

In an article titled “The Police Were Created to Control Working Class and Poor People, Not ‘Serve and protect’’ by Sam Mitrani the editor states that police officers were never made to serve and protect the population. They were not made to stop crime or promote justice. Instead, Ms. Mitrani states that around the nineteenth century “police officers” were made to protect the new age of wage-labor from the so called threat of the working class. Then she continues on to give evidence of such cases but in the same sense “police officers” had a choice on where or not they wanted to hold such a title. The evolution and meaning of a police officer has changed since the 19th century.…
