Effective immediately, Officers assigned to patrol SHALL make every attempt to be back to the police department prior to the end of their shift. Meaning, if an Officer is not tied up on a call for service, they shall be back at the police department no later than twenty (20) minutes before their shift ends. It is understood Officers could be clearing up a call for service and returning back to the police department during this time. It is important that Officers are back at the department to meet with and talk with the next working Officer regarding the events (calls) that went on during their shift. It is important that the Officer working the next shift has a chance to get the duty kit from the Officer coming off shift.
