In exercising their right, Police departments throughout America often abuse it and use force lethally, injuring and killing people who pose little to no danger. The surge of several highly publicized incidents of unfair treatment by police have sparked widespread debate over the relationship between police officers and the public. To add to the chaos, many of the police officers being accused of misconduct are acquitted of charges or not charged at all. This perception of injustice has awakened activist groups such as “Black Lives Matter” and demonstrators throughout the nation and on social media in an attempt to bring awareness to the issue and put a stop to the violence. For this reason, I think that the graphic is effective. Graphics such as this and many others report facts about what is happening with law enforcement officers and community members across the nation, and gives people the information they need to make informed decisions and form fair opinions about police brutality and the use of excessive
