Police Constable Calvin Au: A Case Study

• On August 31, 2015 Police Constable Calvin Au (11023) was working in a uniform capacity assigned to 55 Division. At approximately 2:00 pm., the Officer was participating in a bicycle training exercise near Cherry Street and Commissioners Street, Toronto. Part of the exercise required the Officer to practice emergency stops. While doing so, the Officer fell off the bicycle and struck both hands and his right elbow on the pavement. The Officer did not notice any pain and was able to complete the remaining portion of the training.
The Officer went home and started experiencing pain in his right forearm and elbow.

On September 1st, 2015, the Officer was still experiencing pain and decided to attend Toronto East General Hospital for an examination.
