Police officers are their to assist the public. They are there to help if someone is lost or is hurt. Police Officers have to be there when people are in need. They have a lot of different duties that have to do on a daily bases. After researching the career of a police officer, I have decided to pursue this career.
Concerning typical daily tasks, police officers are required to do many things. Cops main requirement is public safety. For example, they have to watch for people breaking the law. Police officers always have to be ready to keep the public safe and arrest people if they do break a law (“Task List” 1). I believe I would be able to handle these tasks. Learning about the laws should be easy because I already know a majority of them. Dealing with people would be easy for me because I already have a job I deal with people. A big activity is processing information. If it’s from another officer 's or from the public. They also have to think creatively to help people. Officers have to be fairly decent with computers (“Common Work Activities” 1). I believe I would be able to do all of these activities. I use a computer everyday in school, so that won’t be anything new to me. The harder activities for me will be the processing information and think creatively but I don’t think they will be a huge problem. Police officers working conditions are basically the same everyday. Cops have to always wear their uniform when on duty. Most police officers will be in a vehicle on a daily basis. At least once a day, sometimes more, cops are placed in conflict situations (“Working Conditions” 1). These conditions are nothing I can 't handle. In sports I have to wear uniforms. I’m in vehicles all the time traveling, so that will be easy for me. The hard part will be the conflict situations because you don’t know what you’re getting into most of the
