Police brutality is an epidemic in this country that has run rampant to a point where something needs to be done. It is unnecessarily cutting the lives and rights of our fellow citizens short every day, and puts an extensive amount of people at risk everywhere in the U.S. police brutality is a problem that is led and maintained by power hungry members of the police force. It is used as an excuse to completely desecrate and break down an innocent or guilty person’s body and will. It is normally viewed as a cop going to unyielding lengths to arrest or contain someone. But most of the time, there is not a reason to begin with. With that in mind, the general view of police brutality is seen as unjustified violence. Having police officers abuse the power they hold with or without reason. On the other hand, there are officers who still try to handle their situations accordingly. Some do not even resort to using force at all. According to a group of law expert’s experiences, a large number of officers have been in multiple situations in which they could have used deadly force, but resolved the incident without doing so and while avoiding serious injury (Pinizzotto et al. 2). Some police members are probably not experienced enough in the field to handle any type of heated situation. Which is why the lack of training that is given to said members is a clear cause of the problem. Also, the public can be responsible for bringing this issue to a head. It is not an issue that should be taken lightly. So many people’s lives have been turned upside down due to the effects of police brutality. It has happened to citizens under suspicion, and even ones that have nothing to do with the situation at all. On the police 's side, it is already their responsibility to take control of their actions and realize the wrongdoings they are taking part in. It is already the police’s job to uphold and enforce the law. Contrary to this, police brutality is a total abuse of power and breaks the law in the process. On the citizen’s side, it is our responsibility to follow the law and not give any reason to lead up to the violence. But, as people, we should all have respect for our fellow man and woman. Committing these crimes shows no sign of respect, but rather hatred towards each
