I believe that it is not common because by defining common is occurring, found, or done often. But that is just not true because stats, more about bringing up that it really isn’t happening all the time because 1.4% of meetings between officers and civilian end up with an officer being violent. Considering they have way over millions of meeting throughout the year and to only happen 1.4% time just proves it isn’t common. Social media is another big reason why some would assume that police brutality is common because one case that happens in 2014 where police officers killed a young African American teenager by using excessive force and cops were wrong, but that case was all over the news saying police brutality this and that! Yes, cops do wrong and brutal treatments, but that happening is super rare. If the question was is unfair police brutality happening in the US, I would be the first one to tell you that it does and happens a lot to minorities, yet it is not common. The US should be little considered because compared to other major countries, we have higher numbers in police brutality, but once again it’s super rare of police brutality happening.
