(What) Mr. Brown’s case was such a hot topic because he was an unarmed teen, and no one knew why the officer had shot him. The incident had been seem by multiple eye witnesses who were in the area. The bystanders who watched what happened took video of the incident, but the problem with the eye witnesses is they don’t have the same story which makes their testimonies invalid. Although video was taken by the witnesses’ none had a clear view of what happened, and many were too far way to even see the face of the officer or mike brown. If Officer Wilson had on a body camera, then we could clearly see what happened and the conversation between him and Mike Brown. With Mike Brown being unarmed and the officer had shot him the reasoning for the shooting is unknown, but with the body camera we can know everything that happened before and after the officer fired the gun. We would be able to know the conversation that they had, and we would be able to know what triggered the officer to shot and determine wither he was within his rights or was Mike Brown within his rights. Our current president Barack Obama was to require all U.S police officers to wear body cameras, the president said he wants to ensure that the United States isn’t creating a “militarized culture” within law enforcement. Militarized culture means the use of military equipment in the US communities by law enforcement, the president said “This is not just a problem in Ferguson, Missouri. This is a national problem”. President Barack want to create a trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve, and he believes body camera will do so. (Obama) The requirement for police to wear body cameras, is so that the death of an officer and/or citizen won’t be a mystery. When a person gets killed in an altercation with law enforcement wither the officer or the citizen, there are questions that must be answer. Two questions that must be answered are, could this crime be prevented and wither the person who committed the crime was at fault? Both of these questions could be easily answered by the video from the body, the video could hear the conversation and the courts could decide wither or not the crime could have been prevented, and the court could use the video to determine who was at fault by listening to both sides of the conversation, and watching the actions each person made.
