That’s just a person’s point of view. It is known that it is still going on all over the world and many victims are being killed by excessive police force. “Black people use force against each other in American ghettos and this is not true about police”(Ghetto Civil War). The Sheriff labels the protestors as being black, identifying them, and further negating the issue at hand; he is using the bias of labeling. He believes that placing the crowd under the same light that black people are under would invalidate the issues they are fighting for, especially when he demeans them by saying they are from the ghetto. The sheriff aims to use the social and political stigmas that entail being black or coming from the ghetto against the protestors. The black lives matter is a national organization working to reinforce the validity of Black lives and call out injustice, while reflecting on the strength of the black community. The Sheriffs bias is projected when he attacks the Black Lives Matter movement. When he brings them up in the interview unprovoked it is clear that he is attempting to slander the organization by implying that they have something to do with the protest at hand.
