In this article Arnett argues that in different colleges across the United States African-Americans are dealing with the abusive force of police officers. Some supporting points of the article are that Rodríguez presents proof of officers using whatever they can that’s legal to spray protestors with and that UC Davis called upon the Riverside Police Department and Riverside County Sheriff ’s Department for backup. I don’t entirely agree with Rodríguez because I don’t believe all police officers like to push their limits while abusing citizens. However, I do agree that no matter what color you are police officers will still attack you. This article can be useful for my paper because it talks in detail historical events that had to deal with police and students at universities. A point that supports this is that by making rap videos and other visual media projects young people will interact more and think. I believe this is a good idea because spreading the news of what people need to know about what is going on in the world is very critical. Especially if one way to spread information is by media, most teens and young adults are more likely to see it and react to it. This can be useful to my article because I know quite a bit of stuff pertaining to Hip-Hop and activism so I can throw in some stuff that can help out my paper. Another reason why it can help my paper is because most people believe Hip-Hop music is all about drugs and violence but if I talk about what Hip-Hop really is and how it can influence positive behavior such as activism people will learn how Hip-Hop ties in with being informed about what is going on in the world and educating
